Your card got to me on the exact day of the tragedy in CT., where the 20 kids were killed. As soon as I saw the card, it made me think of 1st grade, that age and period of time. It’s been a while since we sat in that room, in Spanish Harlem. I still remember those long skirts, curly hair and bright smile. You have a smile that lights up the whole place – I love it, just thinking about it makes me smile. I want to thank you for everything you have done for me and do, for taking out the time when you do not have to, for being sweet and kind without an agenda and for just being you because I love who you are."
